In a significant update for medical aspirants in Karnataka, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has published the provisional seat matrix for the second round of NEET 2025 counselling. The newly released matrix is a beacon of hope for thousands of students, as it indicates that a total of 5,049 seats are still available across various medical, dental, and AYUSH courses in the state. This substantial number of vacant seats provides a renewed opportunity for candidates who were not allotted a seat in the first round or are looking to upgrade.

The provisional seat matrix offers a detailed breakdown of the available seats, helping aspirants make informed choices during the second round of choice filling. According to the data, there are 2,590 vacant seats in medical colleges. Prominent institutions like Bangalore Medical College have 86 available seats, and M.S. Ramaiah Medical College has 46.

Similarly, the dental stream also has a large number of vacancies, with 1,510 seats up for grabs across 37 dental colleges. Government Dental College, Bangalore, has 13 vacant seats, while Dr. M.R. Ambedkar Dental College has 86. For those aspiring to pursue alternative medicine, there are 949 vacant seats in AYUSH courses. The list of vacant seats includes 44 at Government Homoeopathy Medical College and Hospital and 80 at Bhagavan Budha Homoeopathy Medical College.

The release of this provisional seat matrix is a crucial preparatory step before the commencement of the next phase of counselling. Candidates are urged to meticulously review the matrix and fill their choices carefully to maximize their chances of securing a preferred seat. Students who have been allotted a seat in the first round and have opted for an upgrade should also participate in this round to improve their college or course.
